Una buena WebQuest es una muy buena estrategia educativa, es una metodología y, como tal obliga, a replantearnos muchas cosas. Con una WebQuest podemos conseguir aproximarnos al ideal educativo de que nuestros alumnos sean más creativos, críticos y solidarios. 1. Por comodidad: si ya tenemos una unidad didáctica en forma de WebQuest creada por un profesional de la educación, un colega nuestro, con quien podemos tener muchas afinidades, a quien podemos consultar dudas y pedir apoyo si es necesario… Si ya hay quien ha creado una WebQuest que se ajusta a lo que queremos trabajar en el aula y la encontramos a nuestra disposición, ¿por qué no considerar la posibilidad de utilizarla adaptándola, si es necesario, a nuestras necesidades?
2. Para introducir el aprendizaje por tareas: aprendemos haciendo. Los alumnos deben construir su conocimiento. Si estás cansado de libros de texto que dan respuestas a preguntas que los alumnos aún no se han formulado y deseas trabajar los contenidos de manera significativa.
3. Si deseas que los alumnos trabajen de verdad de manera cooperativa y colaborativa, desarrollando sus habilidades sociales al mismo tiempo que su sentido de la responsabilidad individual, si deseas que reflexionen sobre un tema desde diferentes perspectivas y que debatan entre ellos.
4. Si deseas utilizar las TIC y las TAC y buenos recursos audiovisuales. Las WebQuest están estructuradas de manera que seguro que harás un buen uso de ellas. Los recursos y herramientas que encontrarás son de calidad y adecuados, ya que habrán sido seleccionados por los docentes que han diseñado la WQ.
5. Si quieres que los alumnos trabajen de manera más autónoma. Las WebQuest van dirigidas directamente a ellos, utilizan su lenguaje y les ofrecen la interactividad para ir avanzando en su proceso de realización de una tarea y en la creación de un producto.
6. Si quieres trabajar de manera más interdisciplinar y competencial. La mayoría de WebQuest están pensadas para desarrollar las diferentes competencias. Todas las WebQuest trabajan como mínimo la competencia lingüística, la digital y la de autonomía personal, y según el tema trabajan también las otras competencias.
7. Si deseas empezar a evaluar de otra manera, con herramientas de mejora y de reflexión, implicando a los alumnos en su proceso de aprendizaje, las WebQuest te proporcionan las rúbricas, que son una forma sencilla y fácil de evaluar el proceso y el resultado del trabajo de los alumnos.
8. Si deseas introducir el mundo real a tu aula y dar visibilidad a los trabajos de tus alumnos interaccionando con el entorno, las WebQuest prevén cómo hacerlo.
